The Translational Division of the Center for Diagnostic Nanosystems is located at the Huntington Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) (http://www.huntington.va.gov). This research arm of the Center for Diagnostic Nanosystems is affiliated with the Marshall University College of Science, Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University, Cabell Huntington Hospital, Saint Mary's Medical Center and the Huntington VAMC.
The division is focused on the following activities:
- The development and testing of new interventions to treat chronic diseases
- Providing state-of-the-art clinical laboratory and research training opportunities for the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine Endocrinology and Cardiology Fellowship Programs.
- Developing collaborations between basic scientists, clinical researchers and physicians that are aimed at developing new ways to diagnose, monitor and treat chronic diseases that are especially prevalent in West Virginia and Appalachia.
