TEST INFORMATION FOR PRAXIS I AND PRAXIS II All Praxis I & II registration must be done online at  www.ets.org/praxis.  You can view which exams, dates, and times are available at the Marshall University Testing Center by selecting Marshall University as the preferred testing site when registering.  However, many of the Praxis II exams will only be offered during specific testing windows, similar to the current paper-pencil format.   

Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)

 
GRE Code for Marshall:  5396.

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a computer-based exam available at the Marshall University Testing Center, Room G-45, Morrow Library.

FEES
The GRE has a four hour seat time, and a cost of $160.  It is possible to apply for a GRE fee reduction certificate. The GRE Fee Reduction Certificate can be applied toward the test fees for one General Test. Students who qualify for the fee reduction will be required to pay 50 percent of the full test fee.  For information and eligibility requirements please see:

HOW TO SCHEDULE A TEST
We recommend making appointments one to two weeks in advance for best testing time selections.  However, registration at least one day in advance is mandatory.  The center accepts checks or money orders (payable to Educational Testing Service), as well as, ETS vouchers, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.  To make reservations by telephone (304-696-2604), a credit card or voucher is necessary.  Full payment is due when registering. A $50 fee will be charged for rescheduling exams prior to 3 business days.  Rescheduling is not permitted within 3 business days of your appointment.

  • Unofficial scores for the Verbal and Quantitative sections will be displayed on the computer screen after test completion. 
  • The official scores, including the Analytical Writing, will be mailed to the examinee, and selected institutions in approximately 3 weeks. 
  • The GRE may be taken once per calendar month, and no more than 5 times during a 12 month period.  If the GRE is taken more than once within a calendar month, additional scores will not be reported, and money will not be refunded.

GRE testing is available Monday through Friday, and specified Saturdays.  Additional testing sessions will be available as needed.

the PPST in Mathematics, Reading, and Writing (excluding the essay) contains multiple-choice questions that require selecting or highlighting a response.  The “MARK” tool allows examinees to proceed with testing, and return to a question later.  The linear testing format is consistent with the paper-based examination.

The combined PPST is a single day testing session with a 4 ½ hour seat time, and a cost of $130.  We recommend making appointments two weeks in advance for best testing time selection.  However, registration at least one day in advance is mandatory.  The center accepts checks or money orders (payable to Educational Testing Service), as well as, ETS vouchers, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.  To make an appointment by telephone (304-696-2604), a credit card or voucher is required.  Full payment is due when registering.
