STUDENTS LEARN NEWS REPORTING
JMC 301 provides practice in gathering and writing news for campus media. Emphasis is placed on beat assignment reporting, interviewing techniques and some specialized reporting. It is a laboratory class in which students write for the university student newspaper, The Parthenon, and its online edition.
Prerequisites for JMC 301 are a minimum grade of C in JMC 102 and JMC 201. Because this is an advanced writing course, student work is expected to reflect professional writing standards in gathering and attributing information, interviewing sources, writing and editing. |
