This is an exciting and busy time, so we make the process of enrolling at Marshall as easy as possible. The following will serve as your Admitted Transfer Student Checklist to complete the various tasks required to join Marshall.

Set Up Your MyMU Account

MyMU is your one-stop shop for all things student at Marshall University! Once set up, use to access information about your financial aid, view your bill, register for courses, access Blackboard and view your course schedule. Click the button below for instructions on how to get started!

Apply for Financial Aid

Marshall University’s goal is to make a Marshall education affordable for every accepted student. In addition to offering competitive tuition, our financial aid packages include generous merit and need-based scholarships, loans, grants, and work-study opportunities. To be considered for financial assistance, you’ll need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is made available each year on October 1.

Confirm Your Enrollment

After you’re admitted to Marshall University, confirm your enrollment by logging back into your portal account and completing the intent to enroll form. Then, you’ll complete other steps on this checklist, including applying for campus housing, attending orientation, registering for classes, and more.

Confirm Your Enrollment

Housing

After you confirm your enrollment, you can sign up for on-campus housing. Transfer students can choose from among 5 residence halls, with multiple dining options throughout campus. Or you can opt for one of our Living-Learning Communities to live with other transfer students who have similar interests.
Marshall University has a two-year residency requirement for all freshmen and sophomores, so signing up for housing is a required step.
Local students who will be living at home with their parents and commuting to campus must fill out an authorization to commute request.

Register for Orientation

As a new transfer student at Marshall, you’ll take part in a full-day program to learn what it means to attend Marshall University. During New Student Orientation, you will:
Get your student ID and learn about Marshall’s student resources and support services
Prepare for your first year at Marshall University, including academic expectations and student life
Meet with an academic advisor to register for your first semester of classes
Get to know many of your new Marshall classmates

Register for Classes

When you attend New Student Orientation, you’ll meet with your academic advisor and register for classes. We hope that all students are able to attend a summer orientation date, but if you are unable to attend, please contact the Office of New Student Orientation for additional information. Get Your Campus ID and Computing Account

When you’re participating in Orientation, you will create your Campus ID Card and Computing account. If you are unable to attend Orientation, please visit the Campus ID Office website.

Secure Your Parking Permit

All Marshall students are permitted to have cars on campus. When you attend Orientation, you’ll be able to get a parking permit. If you are unable to attend Orientation, you’ll need to apply online for a parking permit.

Tuition & Fees

Check online for detailed information about Marshall’s tuition and fees. You’ll work with our Office of the Bursar to make your payments; we offer various options for paying tuition and fees — by check, money order, credit card, cash, and payment plans.
