The Class Luncheon honored the 50th reunion class (1957), joined by the Grand Class – those who graduated before 1957. Dr. Sam Clagg, former professor of geography and Marshall icon, spoke at the luncheon. The event was held in the John Marshall Dining Room, Memorial Student Center.

Alumni Weekend concluded its events on Sunday with approximately 240 people attending a Scholarship Honor Reception in the Don Morris Room, Memorial Student Center. Donors and recipients of private scholarships were honored at this annual event. Guest speakers included Mrs. Dorcas “Dee” Hodges Burlingame, a donor of the Virgil E. and Irene O. Hodges Scholarship, speaking on behalf of scholarship donors; and Ms. Jessica Slash, recipient of The Nate Ruffin Scholarship, representing students.

Dr. Dorothy Hicks, donor of the Dorothy E. Hicks Physical Education Scholarship, Lori Estep, recipient, and Dr. Rosalyn Templeton, dean of COEHS.

During this academic year, 2,068 private scholarships valued at nearly $2 million were awarded (some students qualifying for more than one award). This event recognizes and applauds the generosity of our donors and the achievements of our students.
