Dear
alumni and friends of Marshall,
According to
Mapquest™, it is 495 miles from my front door here outside
Philadelphia, Pa., to the front door of the Erickson Alumni
Center, the home of the Marshall University Alumni Association.
My presence as president of our association clearly signals that
we are a national organization. The MUAA is not one limited to
West Virginia. In fact, we have a total of 40 clubs (which
includes three game watching groups) from California to Florida
to New York. There is no question – we are a NATIONAL
organization.
A brief bio
of your new president. I am a life long resident of Pennsylvania
– I grew up outside of Pittsburgh and have lived in the
Philadelphia area for almost 25 years. I graduated from Marshall
in 1979 with a history/political science major. Three weeks
after graduation, I started at the University of Tennessee
School of Law. I graduated from there in December 1981. I am a
civil trial lawyer on the defense side and practice law in
Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. Not quite Law & Order™,
which is criminal law, but I do spend time in front of juries. I
have been a member of the Alumni Board since 2000.
I look
forward to representing you and this board over the next two
years as your president; to continuing the work of my
predecessors in making this a truly national organization; and
to expanding the benefits of membership in this organization. I
am available for your questions, comments or just to say “hi” –
just use the e-mail address below or leave a message for me at
the Alumni Center (800) 682-5869 and I will call you. I look
forward to meeting many of you at some point over the next two
years as I travel to club events, Marshall sports events or
maybe in the local store – I will be the one in the Marshall
apparel.
Always wearing the green…
