When I was elected to this
position, I knew I would have to call on others to help me. As
one of thousands of alumni who live away from the Huntington
area, I cannot be on campus for every event. Therefore, I am
coming to you this month and asking for your help.
Please bring your voice and be
ready to cheer on our Women’s Volleyball Team. As I write this,
Marshall has earned the regular season
title with a 22-8 record and a 15-1 mark in conference play.
More importantly, Marshall is host to the Conference USA
Volleyball Championships November 15 – 18 at the Cam Henderson
Center. Our team will be playing on Friday, November 16, at 5
p.m. Let’s show the rest of Conference USA that Marshall fans
are a force in all sports. Our women, behind Coach Jacobs and
the rest of his staff, have battled to a top seed in this
tournament. We owe them the support they deserve for such a
great season. What an incredible opportunity to showcase not
only our talented team but also Marshall University and our
alumni. Let’s show that Herd pride. We Are … MARSHALL is not
just for football.

What a great Homecoming. I hope
all of you who were in Huntington for the weekend enjoyed the
events. Thanks to our great staff and the incredible Homecoming
Committee members for putting everything together. I enjoyed
meeting so many of you during the weekend. Please let me know
what you thought of Homecoming – what you liked and what you
think we can improve. Homecoming is for you; so let me know what
keeps you coming back.
I also had the opportunity to
visit our Florida alumni at the tailgate held before the Central
Florida game. I had a great time there and hope those in
attendance did, too. Again, the MUAA has co-sponsored several
pre-game tailgates this year. Those of you who attended, please
let me know how we are doing. My email address is below.
I want to wish everyone a happy,
safe and peaceful Thanksgiving holiday!!!
.
Always wearing the green…
