Marshall Football announces 2007 recruiting class
Thundering Herd signs 23 student-athletes

Marshall
University head football coach Mark Snyder announced the signing
of 23 student-athletes to National Letters of Intent Wednesday,
February 7.
“One of the
things that impresses me about this class is its commitment to
excellence,” Snyder said. “This is a group that is going to work
very hard to succeed in all that it does. It is a diverse and
versatile group of young men and we were able to help ourselves
in a number of areas.”
Marshall’s
2007 recruiting class includes 22 high school players and one
junior college athlete who signed at mid-year. The class
features student-athletes from 11 different states that span
from New Jersey to Florida and is broken down by 12 players on
defense and 11 on offense . The Thundering Herd addressed needs
on the offensive line, defensive line and in the defensive back
field by signing six defensive linemen, six offensive linemen
and four defensive backs.
“Our
recruiting efforts were directed toward good football players
with great work ethic to fit our style of play,” Snyder said.
“This was a total team effort by our entire university and
athletic department staff and I think our assistants did an
unbelievable job.”
