Faculty Senate to
celebrate 20th anniversary
The
Marshall
University Faculty Senate is planning a reception to
celebrate the 20th anniversary of the organization and honor the
university's faculty.
The first event is a reception from 3
to 5 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26, in the Shawkey Dining Room in the Memorial
Student Center. Honored guests are
Dr. Dale
Nitzschke, past university president; the Faculty Senate
Constitution Committee; and current and previous Faculty Senate
officers and senators.
On Tuesday, Feb. 27, faculty
members will participate in Marshall University Day at the
Legislature.
Sodexho has
scheduled a “Faculty/Staff Appreciation Pasta Bar Buffet” for
$3.99 in the John Marshall Dining Room, 11:30 until 1:30.
MU Bookstores
on Huntington and South Charleston campuses have scheduled a
faculty/staff appreciation day. With MU ID, faculty and staff
may receive a 20 percent discount on MU clothing, gifts, and
general reading books. There will also be a drawing for door
prizes.
On Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 11 a.m.,
in the Drinko Library, plaques listing
award-winning
faculty will be
unveiled.
Honored guests: Faculty who have been recipients
of the Marshall & Shirley Reynolds Outstanding Teacher Award,
the Charles E. Hedrick Outstanding Faculty Award, the
Pickens-Queen Teaching Award, the Marshall University
Distinguished Artists & Scholars Award, and the Meet the
Scholars Award.
