Marshall
University Director of Athletics Bob Marcum announced on
April 23 that Marshall will play at two game football series
with Bowling Green beginning in 2009.
Bowling
Green will travel to Huntington on September, 26 of 2009 and
the Thundering Herd will travel to Bowling Green on
September 18, 2010.
The home
and home series will renew the rivalry the two schools
shared while Marshall was a member of the Mid-American
Conference. Marshall and Bowling Green have met 27 times on
the gridiron and the Falcons own a 20-7 record in the series
that dates back to 1954.
Marshall
won four out of the last six meetings between the two
schools after Marshall re-joined the MAC in 1997. The
Falcons took a 56-35 in the last game played between the two
on November 13, 2004, at Bowling Green.
The
addition of Bowling Green gives Marshall three
