Department of
Music to present a Broadway Cabaret
On
Saturday following the Homecoming Game, at 7:30 p.m. and
repeated at 10 p.m., the Department of Music will present a
Broadway Cabaret in the Jomie Jazz Forum. Admission is free.
Singers of Marshall University Opera Theatre perform old and new
favorites led by pianist and director Bruce Rous, adjunct
professor in the Department of Music. A veteran of Marshall
Opera Theatre, Rous enjoyed a career in New York as pianist and
musical director following graduation. His Broadway credits
include Grease and Peter Pan, Off-Broadway shows,
and national tours of popular shows including CATS. Most
recently he was musical director of Huntington’s ARTS production
of Hello Dolly. He currently can be found at his alma
mater teaching music theory, music appreciation, and sharing his
experiences with Marshall’s singers from Broadway to grand
opera.
Featured in past Marshall University musicals and opera
productions, these talented singers are sure to delight. So let
the Homecoming celebration continue… Join alumni and students
for a performance of Broadway favorites in the intimate club
setting of the Jomie Jazz Forum. Because seating is limited,
there will be two performances… for the “early birds and the
night owls.”
