Hello Alumni
and Friends of Marshall,
October is
here and that means Homecoming is just around the corner.
I hope all of
you plan to come into Huntington and celebrate with us this
year.
It’s a
special year for Marshall in so many ways, a new president doing
new things, a Hollywood movie about our story, just to name a
few.
Lots of
things are planned to make Homecoming a great time again this
year. The students and alumni involved are working hard to
ensure a great weekend for everyone, so bring your green and
white and join in for all of it.
All week, the
23rd up to the game on the 28th, things
will be happening on and around campus. Office decorations will
go up on Monday and be judged on Thursday. The award winners
will be announced that Friday morning at the Coaches Breakfast
at the Alumni Center with trophies and prizes.
Friday night
everyone is invited to Pullman Square for music, pep rally and
fun starting at 9 pm. Saturday is the big day with the parade at
noon and tailgating until game time at 4:30. We hope to have
lots of floats and at least 200 units in the parade this year,
if not 300 [that’s Mike Hines’ goal]. So come line the streets
from the Civic Center to the stadium and see the bands, floats
and dancers.
Come one come
all for a great homecoming weekend. I’ll see you there.
Sincerely,

Sharon Porter
MUAA National President
