Hello alumni and friends, Another school year is quickly ending. With it comes all the hustle and bustle of graduation preparation and, most important for us as alumni, our Alumni Weekend. April 20th and 21st was the BIG event. Once a year we honor our 50-year graduation class and the Grand Class [classes of everyone graduated over 50 years ago] and a group of very special alumni. The campus is blooming and hopping with activities. The Green and White game previews our football team and, sometimes, we are even having freshman visits to campus. So things are really busy. The Alumni Board had a spring business meeting all day Friday. On Saturday, a luncheon recognized all the class honorees, and our weekend concluded with the 70th Annual Alumni Weekend Awards Banquet. This year’s special award winners are a very worthy group of alumni who have distinguished themselves in their profession, their community or service to Marshall. We were so excited to honor these talented people – you can see the list at this web site. Our Boone County Club won Club of the Year honors for the fourth time out of the last five years. Way to go guys! But, I must tell you it was a hotly contested race for Club of the Year. We are excited to see all our clubs working so hard. Keep up the good work!!! I have attended many banquets because my husband and I have served on the board and I must tell you, each year, at the end, I am so proud to say I’m connected to this wonderful university and all the wonderful alumni, faculty and students who are making a difference in this world of ours.
