Hello alumni and friends, We have some big things coming up at Marshall for you. April 20th, and 21st is Marshall Alumni Weekend. The events are open to ALL alumni and friends. On that Friday, my board will meet for our final meeting under my term as president, and do elections and business. Friday night is a reception for the grand classes [all those graduating before 1957] and the 1957 class. They are our 50 year reunion class. Saturday starts with some informational workshops for graduates on giving and estate planning. Then we have our class luncheon honoring 50-year and grand class members. It's really a lot of fun to meet and greet all these alumni. The Green & White football game is in the afternoon at 3 p.m. and our Alumni Awards banquet is that Saturday evening. At the banquet, we award our Alumni Club of the year, and recognize alumni for outstanding service to the university, to their community and in their profession. Past award winners have included J. Mark McVey, Troy Brown, Dr. Skip Turner, Jim Gibson, Verna Gibson, and Jeff Porter, to name a few. Several scholarship winners are recognized and some lucky faculty member is chosen for the Carolyn Hunter Award. This is always a wonderful, classy evening and I hope you’ll all want to join us.
