Cam Henderson: A Coach's Story wins Platinum Award at
Worldfest-Houston
Cam
Henderson: A Coach's Story won a first place Platinum Award
at the 40th Annual Worldfest-Houston International Film
Festival.
The feature-length video, which was created by Witek & Novak of
Huntington, is the inspiring story of West Virginia’s legendary
coach, who created championship teams at Bristol High School,
Davis & Elkins and Marshall College.
Cam Henderson: A Coach's Story was one of more than 4,500
festival entrants received from 33 countries. According to
Worldfest’s Director, Hunter Todd, only 10-15 percent of the
entries manage to win awards.
This year, more than 25,000 visitors attended the festivities,
which is one of Houston’s largest sources of cultural tourism.
“We’re absolutely thrilled with the first place award,” said
Producer John Witek. “We worked very hard on the documentary and
it’s gratifying to be recognized.” Executive Producer Michael J.
Farrell also expressed his happiness that the production is
being honored across the nation.
By winning the coveted platinum award, Cam Henderson: A
Coach's Story joined a long list of previous Worldfest
winners, such as Steven Speilberg, George Lucas, Jonathan Demme,
Oliver Stone, Ridley Scott, the Coen brothers and Ang Lee.
