Campaign for new Erickson Alumni Center

The
new Erickson Alumni Center and Marshall University Foundation &
Development Complex will be a place where alumni can come together
to reconnect, plan for the future, and celebrate our
accomplishments. It will feature meeting rooms and common
spaces...even displays honoring our heritage and traditions.
But
it was designed to bridge a purpose even greater than simply
honoring our past...it will also open doors to the future through
housing the offices of our development staff and foundation.
Through The Bridge, we will fully fund the new Erickson Alumni
Center and Marshall University Foundation & Development Complex.
This will:
-
provide an exceptional place for alumni to gather.
-
create infrastructure to pursue new sources of funding and
grants...or the lifeblood of our University.
-
provide new opportunities for growth through freeing office
space in Old Main.
More
about The Bridge Campaign, a focused initiative to move our
university to the next level through active involvement in building
the College of Information Technology and engineering lab facility,
Softball Complex and Alumni Center and Foundation offices.

The Marshall
University Alumni Association's plan for a new center is the result
of much hard work by the MUAA board and the Alumni Relations and
Development staffs, and represents our dreams for a new alumni
center. We have now been joined by The Marshall University
Foundation Inc. to help make this new facility happen.
If you have visited the current alumni center, you know the need for
a new facility. We need adequate programming space to host alumni
activities; adequate and private office space for the Alumni
Relations and Development staffs; more storage space; a visually
appealing building; and relief from the constant and expensive
maintenance of an older building.
With these needs in mind, the Alumni Association began a process of
making our dreams a reality. We wanted to create a building that
would become the "home away from home" for our alumni, a first class
facility that demonstrates the importance of alumni in the Marshall
community. With this building, we believe we can achieve that dream.
Highlights of the center will include:
- an alumni
lounge;
-
a large hall for meetings and social events;
-
video and telephone conferencing in the meeting
rooms;
-
a Heritage Room where we can display information
about our alumni and the exciting history of Marshall
University;
-
an architectural design that emphasizes an open
and inviting appearance;
-
a functional workspace for the Alumni Relations,
Development and Foundation staffs
Please join us in
making this dream a reality!
