Nancy Pelphrey Herd Village Scholarship

Established in 1998, Herd Village was a tented corporate tailgate area, located at Lefty Rollins Field. The location is now the site of the new softball field and dormitories.

Because of the success of Herd Village during its time and Nancy Pelphrey's hard work in promoting it, this scholarship was named in honor of Nancy, who is coordinator of alumni programs. The award is still given annually to a deserving Marching Band member and an MU cheerleader. The criteria for this award are:

• The recipients shall be a West Virginia resident who is a member of the Marching Band or the MU Cheerleading squad.
• The recipients shall have at least a sophomore status and an overall GPA of 3.0.

This merit-based award provides tuition/fees and/or other financial assistance for one year.
