May, 2000

Reflection was the overall theme of the last Teacher Partner meeting of the 1999-2000 school year. Participants reflected on their accomplishments and how that affected future plans. They also used "reflection" to view celestial bodies in an evening star gazing activity.

The meeting was held at Camp Virgil Tate, owned and operated by the Kanawha County 4-H.

Participants followed directions to build and calibrate a telescope. Sandy reads the directions as Susan sneaks a peek.
"Now heres how you do it," Nancy tells Anne.
Ever the reading teacher, Jane is having Tina follow the directions as she reads them back to Tina.
Well, at least it's steady, Mike says.
There must be a glitch in these directions. Jill and Mike are trying to identify the problem.
Now how do we get out of here? World traveler Susan is explaining choices to the group.
Rodney Waugh (on the left) and other members of Kanawha Valley Astronomical Society explain their telescopes.
Diane and Jo find there are many similarities between challenges in Kentucky and West Virginia schools.
It's always more fun to work outside, says John, Sandy and Mike. The weather was sure cooperating!
< You can count on those elementary teachers to find a cute way to explain their response to the Transfer Vehicle activity. They let Nancy help!
We have had the pleasure of watching John's daughter, Caroline, grow during his year with us. Andrea and Caroline frequently chauffer John to our meetings.
KY RSC7 Director Karen Hamilton is demonstrating the proper stance for the cheer Glen is about to lead.

"You're kidding - right?" Glen asks.
