December  2001

The December 10-11, 2001 Teacher Partner meeting was held in the Marshall University Memorial Student Center.  The goal of the meeting was to explore the type and location of data that is available to assist them in focusing their efforts in their respective districts.  The sessions were lead by Dr. Mike Howard and Karen Nicholson.  On the first day, Dr. Howard presented an overview of how data could be utilized to measure growth and change.  Karen worked specifically utilizing the different West Virginia reports and scores from the Sat-9 test.  Furthermore, she explored how classroom teachers and curriculum teams could monitor student progress to make instructional changes.  On the second day, Karen worked more in-depth with the Teacher Partners on how to analyze longitudinal data to measure change.  Follow-ups to continue the dialogue that was begun are planned for the spring of 2002.
