February  2002      On February 12-13, 2002, Marshall University's ARSI Resource Collaborative had two days of professional development learning how to utilize IBM’s Learning Village.   The presenters were Donna Landin, Coordinator, WVDE/IBM Reinventing, and Karen Lucas, science teacher from Spring Valley High School.  The evaluation of these two days can be summarized in one word, Terrific!     Donna using the high tech projection capabilities of the MU Drinko Library, Room 138, to assist with explaining this powerful communication tool, Teacher Homepages. Karen showing the group how to import graphics from different sources.   Teacher Partners Danny Dailey and Nancy Booth concentrating on developing their homepage. Keith Phipps, Principal from Madison Middle School, works on his homepage to show his staff. Donna explains how to log on and register on the reinvent homepage. Jo Hendricks and Nancy Booth help a colleague with a design question. Carter asking Karen “what in the world do I do next?” Donna works directly with Melissa Walker, special education teacher from Guyan Valley High School to solve a problem. The group are working on adding additional links to their homepage designs. Susan and Karen listen to a funny story about Carter’s grandchildren.
