November  2001

The November 29-30, 2001 Teacher Partner meeting was held in the Drinko Library on the campus of Marshall University.  The professional development sessions focused on applying and utilizing technology to improve student learning.  Dr. Deborah Lowther, University of Memphis and ATEC, was the presenter and facilitator for the two-day meeting.  Teachers Partners had invited colleagues from their home districts to participate in this hands-on workshop, which incorporated how teachers could use Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word in their classroom to improve student learning and performance.  Although there were different levels of proficiency, Dr. Lowther was able to provide quality instruction supported by user-friendly handouts to the participants.  She modeled and paced the sessions so that all the participants were exposed to the implementation of technology in a meaningful way.
