October  2003

The October Teacher Partner meeting covered using technology in the classroom, especially using computer technology.  Mr. Micheal Carpenter, from the EdVenture Group, was our presenter.  Mr. Carpenter covered Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. and gave some very good tips on on how to manipulate documents and pictures.  He was very thorough in answering all of our questions and we truly enjoyed our two-day training on these topics.  Thank you, Micheal, for helping us to utilize these programs better so that we, in turn, can do more for our students!  We hope to have you join us again in the future!

Micheal is explaining the way that a document is filed in our computers and how we may have them placed under a lot of subfile folders.
A lot of concentration is going in this training so that we don't miss out on anything!
Hello!  Anyone for a break?  We're afraid we might miss something, huh?
Computer technology is something that we can always use a refresher course in occasionally.  It keeps us current with the best tips on how to get the most of each project we are working on.
We tried to stump Micheal with some hi-tech questions regarding Excel, but Micheal knew just the right answer!
Jo says, "I keep putting my quarters in this thing and I still don't get any prizes or candy!  What's up with this?"
As you can see, Susan must have already known this particular technique as she looks like she is proceeding with confidence!
Every participant, from the most learned to the beginner, got something out of this two-day training.  Mr. Carpenter was very flexible and very informative in his training.
Please don't tell on us but the room was a little hot and most of us had to have some liquid refreshment to offset the temperature!
Micheal is explaining where to find some very good science and math sites on the Internet.  The teachers also shared some that they already know about.
