January 1998

This month the technology coordinators from the ARSI School Districts were invited for a special seminar on using web pages for instruction. In the morning there was a six-person panel made up of tech people and teachers with Dr. Ken Williams from Marshall University serving as moderator. Each person showcased ways to use web pages for instruction and displaying student work. In the afternoon ARSI Technology Coordinator Jim Johnson discussed how to create and design a web site. Participants had the opportunity to learn about Microsoft Front-Page, Netscape Gold (Web Editor), RAW HTML and how to use a scanner.

On Friday Dr. Dean Hirschi from Washington State Community College talked with the secondary teachers about working with graphing calculators. The elementary teachers worked on how to use calculators with their students.
