Senior Assessments Final direct assessment of seniors’ ability to think analytically, to solve problems, and to write effectively. We compare senior to freshman performance each year, which allows us to gauge student growth while at MU. All seniors graduating in May, summer, or December 2016 However, they (or their capstone instructors) must contact me to register. February 8 – March 11 1x iPad Mini

National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) Nationally benchmarked indirect assessment of student learning and engagement. We use this assessment, in conjunction with others, to assess the impact of our current initiatives, e.g. the core curriculum, on student learning and engagement. Campus-Wide Surveys Opportunity for campus student service offices to gather satisfaction information from students for the purpose of improving their services. Open to all students through a link of the Assessment webpage. Students will receive an email with the link. March 29 – April 12 10x $25 gift cards to MU Bookstore
Graduation Surveys To gather information regarding student satisfaction with various aspects of their Marshall experience, including perceptions of learning at Marshall aligned to Marshall’s outcomes. Also provides information about future plans. Data analyzed on university and college level. Individual program level data can be pulled upon request and is pulled every five years for program review. Graduating Seniors will receive an email invitation from their college’s dean to complete these. March 7 – April 12 (Students will have longer than this to complete these surveys, but they will have to be completed by April 12 to be eligible for prizes). 10x $25 gift cards to MU Bookstore
Core Curriculum Survey To gather information regarding student perceptions of learning in Marshall’s Core Curriculum as it aligns to Marshall’s outcomes. All undergraduate students will receive an email from me inviting them to complete the survey. March 29 - April 12 10x $25 gift cards to MU Bookstore
Graduate Degree Program Survey To gather information regarding student perceptions of learning at Marshall aligned to Marshall’s outcomes. Data analyzed on university and college level.
