Color Guard Auditions

 

When: April 30, 2016
Where: Marshall University Student Recreation Center
Cost: $25

Auditions are open to any current student or incoming freshman. Males and females are welcome to be a part of the team.

The purpose of the Color Guard audition process is to determine the talent level of each candidate and of the group as a whole. The candidate’s improvement and ability to learn new material is also an important component. We encourage all interested students with color guard experience who are dedicated, passionate, and hard-working to participate in the audition process.

Each candidate will be taught a short group movement and flag combo. Combinations will contain basic technique and a variety of advanced vocabulary. Candidates will be evaluated throughout the entire audition process and will have the opportunity to perform in small and large groups.

Basic Information
– $25 Audition Fee
– Equipment will be provided during the audition process
– Returning members are required to re-audition
– Bring plenty of bottled water and lunch money
– Candidates are required to wear all black form fitting dance attire- shorts should be worn with tights

– Peggy Spins
– Triplets
– Daisy Spins
– Thumb Flips
– Stirs
– One Handed Stirs
– Pull Hits
– Various vertical & 45 degree tosses

*Weapon auditions will be at a later date*
