London New Year’s Day Parade

The Marching Thunder has been invited to perform in the 2020 New Year’s Day Parade in London, England. This event is seen by over 600,000 spectators on the streets and broadcast to millions around the world. The week long trip will include amazing experiences and create lifelong memories. The trip is open to every member of the Marching Thunder as well as alumni and family members.

Is it too late to join the trip?
Absolutely not! Anyone can join through September 15th.

When is the trip?
December 29-January 5

Who can travel?
The trip is open to all members of the 2019-2020 Marching Thunder. Alumni are invited and have the option to perform with the band or participate as a spectator. Friends and Family members are also invited to go as well!

What is included?
Travel from Huntington, WV to London and back
Accommodations at DoubleTree by Hilton Westminster
Traditional English Breakfast Buffet
Three dinners in hotel restaurant
Vouchers for 3 additional meals
Lunch the day of the parade
Oyster card for use on public transportation
Educational tours to Windsor, Hampton Court, Greenwich, and more

How much does it cost?
The total cost for the trip is $3,510. There are options to purchase a land only package and arrange your own airfare.

Students registered for Marching Thunder in the fall of 2019 will receive $1,000 to assist in the cost of the trip.

*Subject to change based on final cost of airfare. The $1,000 from the University will also be applied to this payment.

We will have another information meeting on August 26 at 6pm in the Henderson Center Band Room. We will discuss all the details of the trip and answer any questions you may have. We will have a lot of exciting things to discuss at this meeting.
