Subject: Confidentiality of HRIS Information

Marshall University utilizes the SCT Corporation's Banner HR product as its human resources information system (HRIS).  Information contained in the HRIS is confidential.  HRIS users are required to maintain the confidentiality of this information.  A commitment to maintain the confidentiality of HRIS information is a condition of participation in Banner HR processes.  HRIS information is not to be shared in an unauthorized manner with persons outside Marshall University nor with persons without a legitimate need to know.  Requests for HRIS information that users receive - except from associates with a need to know/right to know - should be forwarded without reply to Human Resource Services or to the Payroll Office.

In connection with confidentiality, employment verifications are provided by Human Resource Services and/or the Payroll Office.  Human Resource Services may be reached at 304.696.6455, and the Payroll Office may be reached at 304.696.6457.  Human Resource Services may be contacted by e-mail at human-resources@marshall.edu.
