Tenure track position. Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Genetics or a related discipline from an accredited university. Relevant postdoctoral experience is required. Demonstrated excellence in both teaching and research, as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills are desired.
Marshall University emphasizes faculty excellence in both teaching and research. Our teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking and instills life-long learning. We seek a colleague who will support our interdisciplinary programs and contribute to the university’s general education curriculum with its emphasis on First Year Seminar and core courses. The primary teaching responsibilities will include Principles of Genetics, Genes and Development, and other courses as assigned by the Chair which could include participation in introductory biology courses and development of discipline specific graduate courses. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will establish an active, externally funded research program involving undergraduates, and graduate students primarily at the Masters level. We are especially interested in candidates whose research will enhance existing strengths in the department, including development, evolution, and cell signaling, although strong candidates in any field of genetics are encouraged to apply.
