This is the first meeting of the new academic year, and we welcome all BMS students (research and Medical Sciences!) to join the BMS Graduate Student Organization (GSO)!
From the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Student Organization President, Taha Ahmad:
During our last GSO meeting we mentioned for the all the students doing some fun activities together. On Saturday, September 6th, Huntington is having its 2nd Annual Color Run. I, as well as a few others in the program, partook in the event last year (all the girls wore tutus) and it truly is the “Happiest 5K on the Planet.” I started a team called “BMS Friends and Family.” I highly encourage you all to join the team and run, walk, or jog with your fellow schoolmates. If you decide to sign up, search for our team and use the coupon code “runhuntington” or “color5off” to get $5 off of the registration. The total after fees (and after using the coupon) comes out to be $40.27.
The first Friday of October is coming up (this Friday, October 3rd) and that means we have another GSO meeting at NOON in Room 102 of the BBSC, so please mark your calenders. Free lunch is always provided.
Agenda for the meeting will be as follows:
- GSC report
- Organization for tutoring for remaining BMS 600 exams
- Dates and Time
- Bake Sale
- New ideas and designs
- Volunteers for upcoming events
- October’s virtual fair
- WV State University
- Community service
- Lead a Classroom Event
Hope you all can make it this Friday. Be there or be missed! And it would be really sad if you are missed, so be there!
