Joan C. Edwards Stadium
The home of Thundering Herd football, which opened in 1991, is located on 20th Street between Third and Fifth avenues. The 38,016-seat stadium has an artificial playing surface and houses luxury boxes, coaches' boxes, a working press area, and a Big Green meeting room. It has been the site of multiple Mid-American Conference title games, and also was host to the NCAA Division 1-AA national championship game from 1991 through 1996.
The Shewey Athletics Building, located at the north end of Joan C. Edwards Stadium, is a two-story masonry building constructed in 1992. This building houses the offices of the athletic director, assistant athletic director, head football coach, assistant football coaches, and additional athletic personnel. This building also houses a home team dressing room, visitor's team dressing room, exercise and weight room, equipment room, meeting rooms, serving kitchen, and a sports training room.
