COVER LETTERS

Cover letters are a fundamental way to introduce yourself to an employer and should be included with every submitted resume. A few points to consider are:

  • Neatness and correctness are crucial. Employers will reject disorganized and error laden cover letters first.
  • Always address your cover letter to a specific person. If you are not sure who that person should be, contact the company to request that person’s name and title.
  • Your cover letter should be brief and concise by limiting its length to one page. It should emphasize a few accomplishments, but its main purpose is to let the employer know you are interested and wish to meet for an interview.
