INTERNSHIP PROGRAMS

If your company currently has an Internship program, you are aware of the tremendous value both to you and the student. If you are considering an Internship program or would like more information on the benefits of such a program, here are some things to consider: internship_programs

  • Internships are a great way for you to see a potential employee in action.
  • You are giving students the opportunity to gain valuable experience in their field of study before they graduate.
  • An intern may be able to assist with short-term projects or ideas that are put on hold because of time constraints or other priorities that must come first.
  • You have a limited time commitment. Once the internship is over, you can terminate the relationship or extend a full time offer to those students who you feel will add permanent value to your company.
  • Internships can be paid or unpaid.
  • Several programs of study at Marshall University require an internship to graduate.
Career Services can work with you to post Internship positions and promote them to students. Contact Debby Stoler at stolerd@marshall.edu.
