The Charles E. Hedrick Outstanding
Faculty Award was made possible by a donation from Charles B. and Mary
Jo Locke Hedrick in honor of Mr. Hedrick’s father, a former history
professor and founder of the Marshall University Graduate School. The
$5000.00 award recognizes consistent outstanding achievement in
classroom teaching and scholarship and/or creative activities by a
senior faculty member. Recipients must have at least seven years of
service to Marshall University, and the award recognizes the highest
level of faculty achievement. The Hedrick Award may be considered the
university’s “lifetime achievement” recognition.
