Pedagogy Matters (PM) Registration

Pedagogy Matters (PM) is for faculty who have completed QM and are teaching, or will be teaching, online courses (e-courses or hybrids) in the coming academic year. The workshop focuses on building and strengthening the pedagogical infrastructure of your online course. PM begins with a half-day, face-to-face workshop, has four online modules spaced two weeks apart. During the face-to-face session, participants will develop or revise their course outcomes. Using these as the foundation for the remainder of the workshop, participants will then align unit outcomes, assessments, instructional materials and teaching and learning activities with their new course outcomes. At the conclusion of PM, participants will have a working syllabus that is faithful to the requirements of the institution and the essential requirements of Standards 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Quality Matters rubric. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants and is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Enrollees may choose between two options for the initial face-to-face meeting. PM will be offered:

  • January 31, 2014: 1:00pm-4:30pm (Huntington, DL 349). Course includes four online modules spaced two weeks apart and concludes on April 6, 2014.
  • February 1, 2014: 8:30am-12:00pm (South Charleston, TBA). Course includes four online modules spaced two weeks apart and concludes on April 6, 2014.
