Judy Olson has a long history with Marshall University,
first as a student, and later as a secretary. She served
as department secretary for the College of Education and
Human Services (COEHS) until the COHES adopted the division
administrative structure in 1985. Judy was soon named the
Administrative Assistant in the Division of Human Development
and Allied Technology, which consisted of bachelor's and
master's degrees programs in Adult and Technical Education,
Counseling, Family and Consumer Sciences and Safety Technology
with more than thirty full-time faculty and staff.
In 1994, Judy accepted the challenge of Program Assistant
in the Center for Business and Economic Research (CBER)
in the Lewis College of Business. CBER has since grown from
two full-time employees to a staff of more than twenty-five.
Judy currently serves as Grant Resources Associate with
supervisory responsibilities and budgeting oversight of
grant funds.
Judy is very proud of her son Tracy, an Occupational Health
Specialist and Instruction at the Marshall University School
of Medicine, and her daughter Stacy who is both a Dance
Instruction/Choreographer and CBER's receptionist. Judy
gained two additional daughters through marriage, of whom
she is also proud: LeAnne, an Academic Counselor at Marshall
University, and Melissa, a dentist in Houston, Texas. Being
"Nana" to her grandchildren -- Ryan, Haleigh,
John Austin and Will -- is also a very important part of
Judy's life.
