Description:
MUGIS is a project within Marshall University managed by
the Center for Environmental, Geotechnical and Applied Sciences (CEGAS) to
integrate Marshall’s spatial data. MUGIS will address several needs of Marshall
University’s principal stakeholders. Stakeholders include the university
administrative, faculty, and students.
An investment in new software and maintenance has the
potential to produce significant productivity and efficiency gains. Examples
include:
- Improve communications
- Increase workforce efficiency
- Improve maintenance quality and labor tracking
- Organized facilities-management data
- Better tracking of asset and equipment histories
- Lowering a facility’s total cost of ownership
- Better use of facility space
- Improve change management
Marshall University has an opportunity to become a model
and set the standard for the state, as no other state university has undertaken
a project of this scope.
