ENGR 620 B COMPUTER APPLICATIONS
Course
Description:
Use of Excel and Matlab to solve problems of interest to engineers. Covers the use of tables, databases, curve
fitting, summation of series, systems of equations, solving nonlinear
equations, differential equations, and other numerical methods as appropriate
for the students. Theory of the methods
will be covered as needed.

Interpolation and Polynomial Approximation
Curve Fitting
Numerical Differentiation
Numerical Integration
Numerical Optimization
Solution of Differential Equations
Homework: Homework problems will be chosen from chemical,
environmental, electrical, or mechanical engineering subjects.
Notes and Examples: All notes and course materials will be posted on
Webct.
