TE 698: COMPREHENSIVE PROJECT FORMULATION

(Information Systems Students)

COURSE DESCRIPTION:   This course is intended to aid the student in preparing for TE 699, Comprehensive Project.  The course includes some instruction in technical writing.   Some orientation to library resources, especially online databases, will be attempted with the aid of library personnel.  All students in the course will be required to have had their advisors approve their Comprehensive Project proposals at least two weeks before the last class of the semester.  All students will make presentations of their proposals to the rest of the class near the end of the semester. SEMESTER CREDIT HOURS: 3;    PREREQUISITES:  15 Hours Of Course Work

 

EXPECTATIONS and GRADING:  Attendance at each class and completion of all assignments is expected in order to receive a “Satisfactory” grade for the course. There will not be a final exam, but a final presentation of 25-30 minutes will be required of each student.  This presentation will be a review of the student’s Comprehensive Project Proposal and all completed work on the Comprehensive Project up to the time of the presentation.  For this course you will receive either a grade of “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory.”  Again, to receive a “Satisfactory” grade, attendance at all classes is expected, completion of all assignments is expected.  Additionally, you will be required to provide a document from your advisor giving the title of your proposed Comprehensive Project and a statement signed by your advisor that he or she has approved the proposal for this project—this will be due no later than two weeks before the final class period of the semester.
