TE 698: COMPREHENSIVE PROJECT FORMULATION

 

Course Description: This course is intended to aid the student in preparing for TE 699,

 Comprehensive Project.  The course includes some instruction in technical writing. 

 Library staff will provide some orientation to library resources, especially online

 databases.  All students are required to have had their advisors approve their

Comprehensive Project proposals before the end of the course.  All students will make

 presentations of their proposals to the rest of the class near the end of the term. 

Semester credit hours: 3; Prerequisites: 15 hours of course work.

 

Objective: To provide the students with the skills needed to define and develop their

 Final  project proposals.

 

Outcomes: With the successful completion of the course, the student should be able to

a.       Develop the skills needed to search library sources for information

b.      Write a grammatically accurate, interesting project proposal

c.       Make an oral presentation of the proposal

Expectations:                Attendance at each class and completion of all assignments is expected in order to receive a Satisfactory grade for the course.  There will be no final exam, but a final presentation of 20-30 minutes is required.  The presentation will be a review of the Project Proposal. You are required to provide the approval of your advisor for the proposed project.
