Course Description: The course acquaints the student with both the theory and practice of industrial hygiene sampling to assess human exposures to chemical, physical and biological agents in the workplace. The student will also become familiar with the legal requirements that impact upon the performance of exposure monitoring.

Attendance Policy: Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes. Attendance will be taken at each session.
Evaluation and Measurement of Student Progress:
Students will be evaluated using the following criteria:
Midterm examination 100 points
Final examination 100 points
Research project 100 points
Class participation 40 points
Material for the midterm and final examinations will come from the textbook and other reading assignments, as well as from lecture discussions. The lecture material will not necessarily follow the reading assignments as outlined in the course schedule. Students will also complete a research project involving the use of industrial hygiene monitoring methods.
Grading Policy:
Grades will be determined according to the following percentage system:
90% or higher = A
80% to 89% = B
70% to 79% = C
60% or 69% = D
59% or lower = F
