Dr. Bill Pierson, Division Chair (e-mail)

Program Description

WVU-Tech BSCE To Be Offered on the Marshall University Campus

West Virginia University (WVU), Marshall University (Marshall), and West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU-Tech) have entered into an agreement to provide access to WVU Tech’s ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE) on Marshall University’s campus.  The agreement is structured to bring third- and fourth-year WVU-Tech civil engineering courses to Marshall’s campus, and these courses will complement the existing MU Engineering transfer program that consists of core math, science, and engineering courses common to the first two years of most engineering disciplines.

The agreement calls for WVU-Tech to begin offering upper-level courses beginning with the fall semester of the 2005-2006 academic year.  The BSCE degree will be awarded by WVU-Tech; however, students enrolled in the program will be considered full-time students at Marshall University.

<>In order to complete the WVU-Tech BSCE degree, students must meet the admission requirements of the Marshall Pre-engineering program and are required to complete the courses listed in the following sample pattern sheet.  This pattern sheet represents a combination of the existing MU engineering transfer program and the final two years of the WVU-Tech BSCE program.   Successful completion requires that students adhere to all the WVU-Tech academic requirements for the BSCE degree.

Current BSCE majors who are Juniors and Seniors are eligible for this program. Collaborative agreement will be in place through Spring 2009. Effective 21-Jun-2007.
