I.             Purpose and Objectives

 

This course is an introduction to computer programming, it will utilize Visual Basic 6.0 which provides the ability to read/process sequential and random files as well as databases (Access).  VB 6.0 provides you with the ability to create printed reports, screens, Internet applications and multi-media applications.  This is the 2nd part of a 2 semester class and we will concentrate on the basics of VB 6.0 using a mixture of lecture and labs with emphasis on Database design using Microsoft Access and systems design and programming with VB 6.0

III.       Course Requirements and Grades

 

Attend class. Complete the assignments.  Read assigned material before coming to class.  Class sessions offer you opportunities to discuss what you have read, apply your ideas to problem situations, and learn from others in the class.

 

 

Prerequisites:                I assume you have previous experience with a PC and windows

                                    applications.

 

Your grade for the class will be based on the following:

 

Programming assignments             25%  (All due on the class before the final exam)

Mid-term                                  25%

Final                                         40%

Class participation                  10%
