Please see the attached page
Attendance Policy:
I will take attendance each class period. Whether or not you attend the class is up to you. However, having a good attendance record, i.e. missing very few classes will have a positive affect on your final grade.
Grading Policy:
I follow a basic 90% - A; 80% - B; 70% - C percentage system. The following will give you an idea of what will be required in this class.
Weekly Quizzes @ 90 – 100 points
Mid Term Exam 100 points
Final Exam 95 points
Class work @50 points
Paper 50 points
Examinations are multiple choice and short answer questions. Class work will be take home assignments when I must attend various conferences, etc.. These assignments will be due the following class period or when told. I do not assign + or – grades. All points will be totaled at the end of the semester and the final grade determined.
Quizzes will come directly from the text book. It is important that you read each chapter and study carefully. On the major examinations, information from my lectures will also be presented.
I do not give “extra credit” work for students to due. If you study the text book, come to class and ask questions about points of confusion, you will do well in this course.
Policy Statement:
The course schedule generally has the due dates of various assignments and major examinations. Quizzes will be announced after we finish each chapter. Furthermore, I will remind you about major exams and when I give you assignments. I expect the assignments to be turned in on time. This is your responsibility. Late assignments will be given a lower grade or may not be accepted at all. If you miss a quiz you have until the next class to make it up. If you miss a major examination you will need a doctors excuse to retake it. A university excused absence is acceptable, however, I am the final judge of all excuses or reasons as to why you can retake an examination.
