Course Description: A study of the environmental health and safety legislation affecting industry today and the underlying reasons behind those laws.
Objectives: This is an undergraduate/graduate course concerned with health and safety legislation that affects industry. This course is designed to give students an understanding of the major health and safety laws and their importance in our world today.

Note: Graduate students may be required to present homework assignments before the class.

Miscellaneous:
· Class attendance and punctuality is expected from every student.
· Students are expected to read course topics prior to lecture and be prepared to participate in class discussions.
· Optional texts will be kept on reserve in the Safety Technology Department Library. These texts are listed because they are the sources of my lecture for that particular topic. If you attend class and take good notes you may not need to reference this material.
· No make-up exams will be given nor late homework assignments accepted, unless there is an extreme situation. I will determine if the situation qualifies as extreme.
· Graded exams will be handed back to students for review. After the “in class” review, students will return all exams to me for my collection. Each exam is open for discussion for one week after it is graded then the grade will be recorded and all cases closed.
· It is the student’s responsibility to know the status of their grade.
