Transportation Engineering Courses Available
Through New Partnership with WVU
January 02, 2001
Under a new agreement with WVU, students in Marshall’s Master of Science in Engineering program will have the ability to pursue graduate study in transportation engineering topics. Starting in January, WVU will begin offering transportation courses to MSE students through interactive video-link between Morgantown and Marshall's South Charleston and Huntington campuses.
As part of this program, a graduate-level course in Highway Planning and Design will be offered during the Spring, 2001, semester on Thursdays from 4:00-5:50 pm. Dr. Jim French of WVU will teach the course from Morgantown, but will originate the course from South Charleston at various times throughout the semester, as well. WVU also plans to offer two additional courses, “Traffic Engineering” and “Operations and Highway Safety”, in upcoming semesters.
We are encouraging current and new students who are interested in transportation engineering to pursue this new program. Students in the engineering management area of emphasis can use the three WVU courses to satisfy the three elective requirements. If you are interested, please contact the Associate Dean’s office in South Charleston at 304-746-2087 or send email to bdulin@marshall.edu.
