Graduate Curriculum Updates

January 02, 2001

The Technical Seminars and Final Project courses have been replaced for all ES, IS and MSE majors with three two credit-hour courses.

Under the old scheme, students took Technical Seminars and then completed the Final Project course prior to completion of their degrees. These two courses composed six credit hours of the total degree requirements.

The new courses are:

TE 601 Technology and Engineering Seminar

This two credit hour course is being offered this spring in Huntington. It will be offered in South Charleston each Fall term and in Huntington each Spring. It should be taken during the first nine credit hours of the masters degree program.

TE 698 Final Project Part I

This two credit hour course is graded S/U (pass/fail). For this spring semester, it's being offered in both Huntington and South Charleston. There are no formal classes this semester. It should be taken in the first 27 hours of the masters degree program.

TE 699 Final Project Part II

This is also a two credit hour course that is graded S/U (pass/fail). It's offered in both Huntington and South Charleston. It consists of student research with no formal classes.

If you have already taken the old Technical Seminars or if you have any questions concerning this curriculum update, please contact your advisor to ensure that degree requirements are met.
