Certificate Presented at ASSE June 2002 Conference

Faculty and students from the Safety Technology program attended the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE) Professional Development Conference June 9-12 at the Gaylord Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN. The conference is an opportunity for over 5,000 safety professionals to come together for continuing education, professional networking and presentations on a variety of safety topics. Students Jimmy Meeks, Dave Barr, Lea Reed and Associate Professor, Dr. Kathleen Meizio attended the conference from Marshall. The safety program received a plaque from the ASSE for its Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) accreditation. Next year's conference will be held in Denver, CO.

	Mark Friend, Chair of ASSE's Professional and Education Standards Committee and ABET representative to the Applied Science Accreditation Commission, presents the ABET accrediation certificate to Dr. Kathleen Meizio, CITE Associte PRofesor, ASSE Member.
