Marshall University Outstanding Volunteers Named

Beginning in the summer of 2001, Marshall University in cooperation with the Society of American Military Engineers has hosted the Exploring Engineering:  Academy of Excellence.  The Academy is an outreach effort designed to increase awareness in the engineering profession among high school students by providing interaction with practicing engineers, hands-on projects, and field trips to engineering sites. 

The Academy is financially sponsored through the generosity of many regional engineering companies and organizations.  Two individuals who have been involved since the inception of the program and who continue to work tirelessly to insure its success are Dave Meadows and Rich Mitchell. 

Dave Meadows is the Chief of the Environmental and Remediation Section of the USAC Huntington office, and Rich Mitchell is a manager with DLZ Corporation.  Both Rich and Dave are highly active in many professional and community service organizations.
