CITE Competes in ACM International Programming Contest
Fifteen CITE Computer Science students recently competed in the 30th annual ACM International Programming Contest held on November 12, 2005. The top Marshall team of Zak Howard, Tue Ly, and Phil McCabe finished in a tie for 25th place in the Mid-Atlantic regional competition. The other Marshall team to score points consisted of Michael Brown, Rocky Butler, and Chris Williams. The main event of the day featured eight challenging programming problems. Participating in the contest were 155 teams from 77 universities in the area. Regional winners now have the chance to compete in the World Finals to be held in early April, 2006, in San Antonio, Texas.
