Selby Wellman

Selby Wellman previously served as the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Interworks Business Division of Cisco Systems, Inc. In addition, he was the Corporate Site Executive for Cisco's Research Triangle Park Development Center in Durham and also held the position of Senior Vice President of engineering and marketing in San Jose. An IT industry veteran, Mr. Wellman began his career at IBM and later worked as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the Paradyne Corporation and FiberCom, Inc. Mr. Wellman has served on the University of North Carolina Board of Visitors, and the North Carolina State University College of Management Advisory Board, as well as on the boards of Red Hat and MCNC, a nonprofit organization committed to advancing education, innovation and economic development throughout North Carolina. He is currently chairman of the board of Vandalia Research, Inc., a biotech start-up company, and an advisor and investor with Synectic Ventures. A frequent presenter at industry conferences, Mr. Wellman graduated from Marshall University with a B.S. in finance and participated in the W. P. Carey MBA program at Arizona State University. The Wellman Family Foundation Scholarship at Marshall University awards scholarships to students majoring in the field of Computer Science.
